Why Wear A Golf Glove?

The simple answer is -golfers do not have to wear gloves. Nowhere in the rules does it state that golfers have to wear them. I for one have played both ways. I play with a glove now because I learned the error of my ways. There are people out there with low handicaps who play without one, even some Professionals play without one but I do recommend one. Wearing a golf glove has its advantages. Stick with me and I will share what I know.

Without a shadow of doubt wearing a glove gives you better grip. When I wasn't wearing one I felt I was gripping the club tighter. The tighter you grip the club the more the tension and the more likely a problem will occur somewhere in the swing. A golf glove though has a heel pad. This heel pad offers more grip than what your hand ever could. This means you don't have to grip it as tightly as you would without one, which in turn means less tension and better control over the swing.

A golf glove also has other advantages they are made from micro-fiber, cabretta and synthetic leather. These materials give full flexibility meaning you can move the fingers, they have full flexion which increases club control. A glove can also keep your hand warm particularly in the winter; it can prevent blister and calluses and it also improves dampness control. Undoubtedly the biggest problem for me when not wearing a glove was in the rain and in hot humid days. The hands would continuously sweat and it would make me grip the club tighter. This is why I decided it was time to be wearing a glove and it had a positive impact on my game. To put it in simple terms a golf glove increases feel and control.

Buy The Right Glove
Make sure you buy the right glove that fits snugly. If it is too tight the Velcro strap will not go all the way round. If it is too loose then it could slip off and even cause blisters because that's what loose material does. Find the right one which is snug and comfortable.
Other things to look out for are accessories which come with gloves. Some gloves feature a strap to place your tees other gloves come with a handy ball marker. There are now even special gloves on the market for people suffering with arthritis. This type of glove is designed to improve hand strength and reduces the pain an arthritic sufferer would otherwise have with a standard golf glove.

Golf Tips on Driving

#1 How to Fix A Golf Slice
How to fix a golf slice is the first of a series of golf tips on driving. All golfers have slice problems at some time in their golfing life, even Tiger Woods, because the rotational movement of the golf swing is unnatural to human physiology, and a slice is a natural result unless you have developed good swing mechanics that enable you to control your clubface at impact.
It should be noted that the following golf tips on driving and how to fix a golf slice are offered for right-handed golfers. Left-handers should reverse the sides as normal.

A Clockwise Spin on the Ball
When you hit the ball, your stance should be pointing straight to the target and your clubface square to a line between the ball and that target. If the clubface is open when it strikes the ball, with the toe further back than the heel from the direction of travel, then it will impart a clockwise spin to the ball that causes the slice. That's because there is more air pressure on the side of a spinning ball that is moving in the direction of travel - the left side with a clockwise spin - and so the ball is gradually pushed right.
A fundamental cure can only be achieved by improving your swing mechanics and stance, but the following golf tips on driving are intended to help you fix a golf slice using some temporary adjustments until you can get your swing sorted out properly. It is not just when driving that you can slice of course, but given that your ball can land 60 - 70 feet right of target with just a 2 degree angle of your clubface from square over a 300 yard drive, you don't want to be slicing when driving.

Tips on How to Fix a Golf Slice
First you should try to identify everything about your drive or your swing that is causing your clubface to be open at the point of strike, and then try to determine which relates to you. Here are some golf tips on driving that relate specifically to how to fix a golf slice by adjusting your swing, grip or stance.
1. Strengthen your grip: if you strengthen your grip by moving it a few degrees clockwise, your clubface will straighten up quicker. You may have to make a few adjustments to get it right.
2. Hold Back Your Chest: If your chest rotates too quickly, so that it crosses the ball before you hit it, then so your club head will lag behind and not be straight on impact, slicing the ball.

3. Fully Rotate Your Shoulders: Most golf tips on driving will stress the importance of getting your shoulders right back on your swing, and this is particularly important when trying to fix a golf slice. A failure to rotate your shoulders correctly on your backswing can result in your shoulders leading your body through the swing which pulls your club head out of alignment, slicing the ball.
4. Take a Step Back: Another potential quick cure that may fix a golf slice is to take up your normal stance and then take step back. By doing this, your club head will have a bit longer before it hits the ball and so more time to close, or straighten up to the ball.

5. Adjust Your Stance Left: As an emergency remedial action on-course, when all else fails, adjust your stance with your feet in line with a point slightly to the left of target, but drive straight to the target. This may straighten the club head before you hit the ball but could also make your slice worse, so you should try the above four golf tips on driving first.
6. Never Aim Left of Target: Some people compensate for slicing the ball to the right by aiming to the left. You should never do this because you will not affect your slice, and will lose any accuracy you may still have had. Not only that, but you will be losing a lot of distance on your drive: possibly 40 yards or more because you are in effect playing an extreme fade shot.

Playing a Fade
Good golfers can fade the ball at will, which utilizes the ball mechanics of the slice in a controlled fashion with a lot less curve on the ball. They do this either by deliberately holding back on the club so that it is open at strike, or aiming their feet and shoulders left and keeping the clubface aimed at the target.
Finally...
Many beginners slice the ball because they rush their swing and try to hit the ball far too hard. They don't give the club enough time to straighten up before whacking the ball, and away it goes like banana, often ending up on the adjoining fairway. A slower controlled swing will offer better results, and the ultimate advice on how to fix a golf slice is to work on your swing.
All golf tips on driving will emphasize the importance of swing mechanics and taking control of this essentially unnatural rotational movement for a human being. If you learn how to control your swing, and how to give your golf club time to close and to become absolutely square to the ball and the target at the moment of impact, then that's how to fix a golf slice, with the other tips above your golf driving game should be on or back on target in no time.

Tiger Woods Astrology Analysis

Tiger Woods born December 30, 1975 at 10:50 PM (AA Rating) in Long Beach California is an American Professional Golfer whose achievements to date rank him among the most successful golfers of all time. Currently the World's number 1, he was the highest-paid professional athlete in 2008, having earned an estimated $110 million from winnings and endorsements. Using the time available on the internet Tiger Woods is a Virgo ascendant in Vedic Astrology chart with ascendant at 0 degrees and 59 minutes. The ascendant lord Mercury is in 12th (Loss) lord Sun's constellation, and sun is in 4th house. This chart does not indicate celebrity status. Many Vedic & Western Astrologers continue to make predictions for Tiger Woods using this incorrect chart, and incorrect birth time. Using the past important events in Tiger Wood's life, the birth time of Tiger Woods is corrected to 10:25:25 PM. So the correct birth time is 10:25:25 PM and the correct Ascendant is Leo at 25 degrees 47 minutes using KP Ayanamsa. This makes Sun as his ascendant lord.

The ascendant lord Sun is in 4th house in the constellation of 3rd (Contract Ads) &10th (Career & Position) house lord Venus, and Venus is in the 3rd house. This makes the Ascendant lord very strong, and indicates a very high level of success and celebrity status. Mercury is the best planet in Tiger Wood's Chart as Mercury rules 2nd house of money, 11th house gains, and is located in 5th house of entertainment, sports, celebrity status, love affairs, romance etc, and Mercury is in the constellation of Ascendant lord Sun. So Mercury in one stroke connects the Ascendant (self), 2nd house of money, 11th house of gains, and 5th house of sports, entertainment, love affairs, romance. Venus rules 3rd house of Contracts & 10th house of career, and status in life is in the constellation of 6th (loss to competitors) and 7th (marriage, business) house lord Saturn and Saturn is in the 11th house of gains. Also Saturn is in its own constellation, very powerful. Jupiter the ruler of 5th house of sports and Entertainment, and 8th house (sudden wealth) is also in the constellation of 2nd (money) and 11th (gains) lord Mercury again in 5th (Sports) house.

As we have seen success, name and fame for Tiger Woods came during Venus Mahadasha Jupiter Bhukti (Oct 1994 to June 1997), Venus Mahadasha Saturn Bhukti (June 1997 to August 2000), and Venus Mahadasha Mercury Bhukti (August 2000 to June 2003). During these periods Tiger won Master's in April 1997, Contracts, agreements 1997 Ad contracts worth $60 million over five years, Sports illustrated's "Sportsman of the Year" in Dec 1996, PGA Championship Prize 1999, US Open Prize 2000, British Open July 2000, Second consecutive PGA Championship August 2000, Fourth major championship in a row April 2001, Won third Masters April 2002, began significant relationship 25 November 2003 (became engaged to Elin Nordegren).

Tiger Woods chart is not good for happiness in marriage as he is Leo Ascendant. The 7th house of Marriage lord Saturn rules 6th house of separation as well at same time, and Saturn is in 11th house of gains and friendships in his own Nakshatra. This makes Saturn a very strong significator of 7th house (Marriage) and 6th house (Separation).

At present Tiger Woods is in Sun Mahadasha Venus Bhukti from August 2009 to August 2010. Tiger has Venus and Moon in Scorpio, Venus at 5 degrees 05 minutes, and Moon at 28 degrees 43 minutes. Transit Saturn is in Virgo and aspects both natal Venus and natal Moon at same time. Transit Sun the ascendant lord for Tiger and transit Venus the ruler of 10th house of career, and position in life came into Scorpio and received 3rd aspect from transit Saturn in Virgo, and moon on Nov 27th came into Saturn's constellation when the Tiger Woods' night time car crash happened which left him bleeding on the road outside his home, have led only to more questions, not answers. The period until the end of 2010 is not good for Tiger's career as transit Saturn from Virgo will be aspecting the natal Venus, the lord of 10th house of career. His marriage will end by Oct 2011 when transit Saturn will aspect his natal moon, and Tiger will be in moon's mahadasha at that time, a strong significator of 12th house of separation. The period from June 2011 to January 2012 will be very sensitive period for Tiger as he will be in Moon Mahadasha and Mars Bhukti. The Badhaka Planet for Tiger is Mars, the ruler of 4th and 9th house, and Mars is in its own nakshatra, is the most evil planet in his chart. I see some important events related to his property, as Mars the Badhaka planet rules the 4th house as well which represents immovable assets.

Golf Tips For The Lob Shot

The Lob shot always impresses the crowds, everyone wants to see that expertise around the greens. They love to see the players really open up the clubface and send the golf ball straight up in the air and land it softly right next to the pin. Probably, one of the most noted players for the lob shot is Phil Mickelson and he unquestionably has a great short game. But to me, Seve Ballesteros is the undisputed master of the lob shot.

I must have tried 50 different techniques in an effort to find something that worked for me, but finally everything clicked into place after watching Seve Ballesteros practice these shots. What I noticed was how flexed he kept his knees and how low to the ground he positioned his body at address to ensure that the clubhead approached the ball at a shallow angle-and that really is the key to playing the lob shot successfully.

If your using a sand wedge, open up your stance so that your feet, hips, and shoulders are all aiming slightly to the left of the target, to the right if your a lefty, so when you make a normal golf swing along the line of your feet, you cut across the ball slightly at impact. Also, open up the face of the club before you grip it to increase the loft further and choke down an inch or so on the grip for extra control.

As you take the club away low to the ground, allowing your wrists to hinge naturally, your next thought is to accelerate smoothly through impact, making sure that the clubhead remains low to the ground in the follow-through. Don't try to scoop the ball into the air with your hands, simply rely on the adjustments you've made to your address position to create the shallow angle of attack into the ball. Now, you can play this shot with a sand wedge, but it's far easier to use a 60-degree wedge or a lob wedge. The extra loft on the club means you can play the shot with the face square to the target and eliminates the need for any adjustments to your address position to get the ball airborne. This shot takes a lot of practice, be sure to put in enough practice so that your confident when it comes time to make the shot. If your not confident about ANY shot then, the end result probably won't be good.

Golf Tips

So why is your golf stroke just not working? You practice but that slice or hook just will not go away. The main problem is when you have a mistake with your golf swing, more often then not the driving range just reinforces the same mistakes. So now the question arises how to best fix that swing. Their are several options. You can hire an instructor, but that can get mighty expensive.
The benefit is he or she can watch every swing and make adjustments for you. There are numerous aides available in the market but most in the end just do not get the job done. So what is the answer? Lets go through some tips first, then we will take a look at the Medicus dual hinge driver. In my opinion the best and most cost effective solution is the Medicus golf swing trainer. The Medicus is available in irons or a driver and the secret to it is a dual hinge system which forces the club to collapse when you do not swing right, but more on that later.

There are several possibilities as to what is causing your golf problems and missed hits. However, no matter how much time and effort you have been spending over practicing your moves to perfect your game, you still will not be able to achieve your goal if you use unsuitable or defective types of clubs, and of course even with the right equipment you will have to perfect your swing.
So let us consider the following golf tips which involve checking on your equipments' quality first, then we will address the swing.

The first choice when deciding on clubs will be deciding between new or used clubs. Used golf clubs should be purchased for every beginner player. When inspecting the used set make sure it includes the irons, woods, and a putter. Although you will probably grow to have passion towards golf, there is a chance that it may not be for you. So why spend a couple thousand dollars on the latest set of brand new golf clubs unless you know for sure that this is a game you truly love.

When it comes to buying the right equipment you need to play golf, the two most important words to remember are fit and comfort. It is easy to watch your favorite professionals on tv and think whatever brand they are using must be the best to have. The real truth is those professionals are paid a lot of money to use the clubs they do. When you select the clubs that are right for you forget what your favorite player uses and worry more how the club feels to you. See how they feel as you grip them and swing them and choose based on what feels the most comfortable for you. The main goal should always be on function not on eye appeal.

A frequent mistake that a beginner makes is buying a full set of golf clubs. A full set consists of 14 clubs, and is usually completely unnecessary for someone who is just getting started. Instead, look for something called a half-set. There are certain clubs in a full set that are more difficult for a beginner to control. Narrowing down your club set to just the most necessary clubs will give you quite a few benefits. It will make it easier to choose the right club when you go to make your shot, and it will mean a lighter load for you to carry around all over the golf course.

Once you have played some and decide golf is for you, it will be time to get a proper new set of clubs. A good tip is to go with custom golf club fitting. This almost always makes a better option than just buying new golf clubs. Getting custom fitting golf clubs is a golf tip that translates to a very sound investment. The uniqueness of each person makes the need of this way of buying new golf clubs the best choice. A custom fitting produces golf clubs that specifically suit the height, strength, swing characteristics and club head speed of that unique golfer.

Now that we know you have all the proper equipment, why is your swing still off? Although a good combination of the right moves and good choice of equipment will better arm you to become the best golfer you could ever be, one last thing still must be considered. Having all the right stuff will certainly help, but you also must perfect the right golf swing. As I mentioned earlier, in my opinion a must have tool is the Medicus dual-hinge driver or iron. This great tool is designed to collapse if you do not have a perfect swing. From the back swing to the follow through, the Medicus forces you to swing perfect or it collapses. The Medicus is like having a professional watch every swing and show you where you went wrong. So I hope these tips have helped point out some of the important things to consider when trying to improve your chances on the golf course and I strongly advise you take a look at the Medicus driver and add it to your arsenal.

Best Golf Drivers For 2011

Identifying the best golf drivers for 2011 is not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination! With so many top quality brands out there, all promising maximum distance, greater accuracy and perfect shot control, it's no wonder it leaves most of us golfers scratching our heads.
Driver Manufacture has come a long way in the past few years, with most of the big names and market leaders spending plenty of money and time on research and development to enable them to provide golfers with the best golf drivers possible.

Some of this research and development in seeking the best golf driver has gone into testing and perfecting different types of club head materials, Callaway have even gone into partnership with car giants Lamborghini to produce a new class of material called forged composite which is used in their latest invention the Diablo Octane Driver.
This material is said to be their lightest and strongest material that they have ever used and enables them to optimize center of gravity for increased moment of inertia and greater distance potential.

Nike have introduced their award winning STR8-FIT Technology which is used in their latest model the SQ Machspeed Black Driver and allows golfers to adjust loft and lie angles so that they can perfectly match their individual swing styles and combat any slicing or hooking issues they may have.
They have also thoroughly researched the effects of aerodynamics on the entire golf swing and have managed to significantly reduce the effects of drag through wind resistance, which produces faster swing speeds for greater distance.

Top Driver Manufacturers have also worked hard on areas such as optimizing weight distribution, different shaft materials, hosel designs, face insert and acid reduction technology and a whole host of other technical enhancements in search of the best golf drivers.
